The Easter Story - Hardcover

This collection of biblical quotations and 30 reproductions of great art illustrates biblical events from the healing of Lazarus and Jesus' entry into Jerusalem on a colt (commemorated on Palm Sunday) through Jesus' passion, crucifixion, and resurrection appearances. All of the visual art is from the National Gallery of Art in Washington; the biblical quotations are from the King James translation and are supplemented by 13 poems by great English poets. The Bible translation, works of art, and poetry present a mostly, but not exclusively, Renaissance vision of the meaning of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. This art and gift book will be especially useful in seminary collections and will be enjoyed by the general public as well.
